September 2nd, 2014
 

Update from Lance-booster officers will be appointed in future meeting in hopes to get new parents involved.  Summary of summer activities.

Coach Cuccia Report

  • 30-35 wrestlers in the room.
  • Coaching budget between $5,500-$7,000
  • Football Parking Dates Sept 26, Oct 2,10,17,30th playoff possibilities
  • October 18 Tri County tournament at Westlake
  • Sept 17 back to school night
  • Oct 1 Parent Wrestler  registration night
  • Booster Meeting Tues September 9th

Financial Report

Budget discussion/cost per wrestler approximately $1,100.00.  Budget formation is forthcoming (by next booster meeting).  Should start the year in positive cash position.  Discussed importance of Alumni Participation/scholarships, improving procedure, and goals.

General Discussion

Car Wash Date, fundraising, concessions, search for additional coaching, Terry from Cross Fit weight training.  We need to improve registration night organization.  Present a Warrior Wrestling Club Fee possibly instead of spirit pack.  We need more parent volunteers.

Wrestling Booster Club Minutes
February 5, 2014

Meeting began 5:00 pm 

In attendance: Coach C., Lance, Beth, Mike, George, Roger, Mark & Denise, Loran 

Coach's Report: 

We have a new assistant coach that Barry brought in – Coach Naz 

JV's record in league matches is 6 and 1
Varsity's record is 4 and 3. 

We possibly will be in CIF Duals this Saturday in Laguna Hills. 

Discussion of budget, ordering of new mat, corporate sponsors, and banquet and awards. 

The banquet date changed and is now March 23rd from 3pm to 7pm. 

Adults will be $20.00 per person. Wrestlers will be free. 

Our wrestlers will go out to Colina Middle school to demo wrestling on February 18th. We
will also go to Los Cerritos. 

President's Report: 

Discussion of end of year video – Loran has volunteered. Loran will be collecting pictures for the video. 

George and Roger discussed Cinepolis movie tickets/distributions cards. They are currently working with
Cinepolis, at the Promenade at Westlake, to put together a corporate sponsorship and banner. 

Next booster meeting is February 19th at 5pm.

December 4, 2013

Meeting began 7:00 pm

In attendance: Coach C., Coach Andy, Lance, Beth, Mike, George, Roger, Mark, Denise, Loran

Coach's Report:

Minutes approved from November 12, 2013.

We have 34 wrestlers currently on the roster.

Discussed donations, jog-a-thon and Ameci's pizza fundraisers. We have raised enough money for the new mat.

Practices are going strong. Coach Cuccia is happy with the workouts. We have 2 full lineups.

Treasurer's Report:

Discussed more efficient ways to deposit and write checks from the bank account. We are on budget.

President's Report:

Discussion of old sponsorships on our website and contacting the companies to see if they want to continue to be on our website. We discussed who if anyone needs a banner for their donations. Coach wants that before our tournament. George to send a list of our sponsors to our website person to put on our website.

Team picture day is December 19th. In addition, Loran will be taking head shots of the team for our website.

Discussed concessions and judges/coaches room concessions and set ups for our upcoming meets.

Next booster meeting on Wednesday December 11th at 7pm. This is the last booster meeting before our tournaments.

Our big tournaments are Friday the 13th for varsity and Saturday the 14th for the Warrior Classic.

November 12, 2013

Meeting began 6:15 pm

In attendance: Coach C., Lance, Beth, Mike, George, Roger, Mark

Coach's Report:

Minutes approved from October 15, 2013.

We have 36 wrestlers currently on the roster.

Football parking volunteers needed for this Friday night.

Discussed donations for the new mat. We are close to meeting our goal. Coach to look into which mat he would like to purchase.

Practices are going strong.

There are 17 teams signed up for our Westlake Classic tournament and 4 teams for Friday, Varsity 6 way. Coach will get an additional 2 teams. Varsity 6 way starts at 3:00 on Friday.

Treasurer's Report:

Budget for 2013/2014 was handed out and approved. We are on budget.

President's Report:

Wrestler's sponsorships received are to go to the "wrestling mat" fund. In addition, there will be a Jog-a-thon on Tuesday December 3rd as our last fundraiser for the mat. Each wrestler will receive a sponsor sheet and will need to secure a minimum of $30.00 in sponsorships. After the Jog-a-thon, we will meet at Ameci's pizza, off of Arboles, between 7-9pm to "kick off" the start of this season. Parents are encouraged to attend so that we can prepare for our tournaments on December 13th and 14th and to discuss other items.

Christmas break will be from the 22th to the 29th. There will be a practice on December 31st.

Our next booster meeting will be on December 4th.

October 15, 2013

Meeting began 6:30 pm 

In attendance: Coach C., Lance, Beth, Mike, George, Roger, Mark & Denise, Loran, Barry

Coach's Report:

Minutes approved from September 17, 2013.

We have 36 wrestlers currently on the roster.

Practices are Mon – Thurs 3:30-5:30 and Friday 3:30 – 4:30 cardio.

Beginning November 4, 2013 thru December 13, practices will be twice a day. Mornings will be 6:30-7:30 am.

Coach was pleased with Buena tournament and our team turn out.

Football parking is going well. Next home game is October 25th.

Weight certification this Thursday. There was a sheet handed out in the parent package regarding this.

Please review parent package given to parents on registration night.

Assistant coaches are Ray, Andy, Jason & Farzin

Coach reviewed progress reports of students.

Discussions of donations and corporate sponsors for a new mat.

New calendar will be on our website.

Discussions of what is needed at our tournament on Saturday, October 19th. Weigh ins 7:00-8:00am.

One parent at every table. Person needed at door to arrive 7-7:30am. Technique clinic at 9:00am.
Tournament to start at 9:30am. Wrestler may choose cadet or junior wrestler, not both. Can also do take down.
Set up 3:00 on Friday. Contact Lance to volunteer. Volunteers needed.

September 17, 2013

Meeting began 7:00 pm

Coach's Report:

Minutes approved from September 3, 2013.

We have 34 wrestlers currently on the roster.

Practices are Mon – Thurs 3:30-5:30 and Friday 3:30 – 4:30 cardio.

We would like more volunteers for parking at the next football game on October 11, 2013. Many kids have helped out for the football parking which counts as community service hours. We receive $400.00 per game.

There is a preseason tournament Oct 12th at Buena and we are hosting a preseason tournament on Oct 19th.

All wrestlers will need an updated USA wresting card before they can participate.

Date change --There is a mandatory registration night at the library on September 24th at 7pm. Flyer to come later. Please save the date. We will be filling out forms for uniform sizes, shirts and shorts, gear, voluntary donations, and we will be collecting funds. We will also have signup sheets for volunteering in order to make this a successful season.

Varsity warm ups will be voted on by the boys.

Coach discussed warrior cards to sell to help with fundraising. He will be getting more information.

Denise discussed selling Muvico tickets for fundraising. The tickets will be $10.00 each. We will order 100 tickets to start.

Karen has volunteered to be our Tournament Maintenance Director. This will save us $400.00 per home tournament. This amount has been paid to the school in the past for keeping the restrooms clean and the trash taken out. We could use volunteers to help Karen.

President's Report:

There will be a car wash on Oct 5th. We will need all boys and some adults to volunteer.

Lance will prepare signup sheets for back to school night and registration night.

Loran has volunteered to be our team photographer this year.

Treasurer's Report:

We currently have $394.00 in our account. We only receive $600.00 per year from CVUSD to fund the program, so we need volunteers for fundraising.

September 3, 2013

Meeting began 6:00 pm
In attendance: Coach C., Beth, Mike, Lance, George, Karen, Roger

Coach's Report:

We have 7 new incoming freshmen. We have 30 wrestlers currently on the roster.
Practices are Mon – Thurs 3:30-5:30 and Friday 3:30 – 4:30 cardio.

Many kids helped out for the football parking which counts as community service hours.

There is a preseason tournament Oct 12th at Buena and we are hosting a preseason tournament on Oct 19th.
We will also be running 2 additional tournaments this year, the Varsity 6 way on Dec. 13th and the JV classic on Dec 14th.

Alicia will continue handling the wrestling stats this year.

We will have a booster meeting on September 17th at 7pm – please save the date. We will also have a mandatory registration night on September 26th at 7pm. Flyer to come later. Please save the date.

We will also have sign ups and parents to answer questions on back to school night on September 18th.

Varsity warm ups were voted on. They are orange and blue.

All kids in the wrestling P.E. class will be on the team. This year coaches will be Coach Cuccia, Coach Farzing, and Coach Ray.

President Report:

We have approximately $1500.00 in our bank account.

Vice President's position was voted on. George will be taking that position.

Possible car wash on Oct 5th.

Looking for volunteers to be JV team parents. Mike and Beth will be team parents for Varsity. We will also need volunteers to help with tournaments and fund-raising. There are lots of opportunities to help and we need it!

We will need a team photographer this year who can take pictures and make a year end video for the banquet.
